Prescription charges go up to £9 a pop in april
but if you buy a digital prepayment certificate on the above link
A PPC costs:
£29.10 for 3 months
£104 for 12 months
£10.40 per month by direct debit for 10 months
so if you only get one prescription a month this is not needed
but 2 a month will save you £112 a year
or 3 will save you £220
Free prescriptions available to those:
Under 16
Aged 16-18 and in full time education
Aged 60 or over
This is such a good idea. As a pharmacist I am constantly recommending these to my patients so they can save money. You can also get a spec FP10 reciept from the pharmacy for your pescroption charge and apply for a PPC and claim your money back for your charge. You have 3 months from the date on the FP10 to do this.
Hope this saves some of you some money
