Looks a decent hybrid bike. This is a hybrid bike more like a road bike to hybrid bike design rather than Halford's stronger mountain bike to hybrid bike design like the Carrera Subway. This will likely be faster. I think hybrid bikes are a great option but being heavier I tend to go the Subway route which gives me better versatility and ability to go over even rougher ground than a gravel bike. This is more like a gravel bike without drop handlebars. Brifters are expensive though so the use of standard brakes and shifters on straight bars keeps the cost down a lot. You can also make the case a more upright sitting position means its easier to focus on what is going on around you on the roads so is safer. Seems good value.
