Just ordered this but having read the other comments I'm a bit dubious now. Will see what its like when it arrives and if its not suitable it will be returned 
It's fine to use as a blanket; possibly safe to use as a wrap or swaddle, but only for short periods and if the baby is awake and supervised. The risk with these type of products is the material and the inability of the baby to reposition the head if it turns face down, or to the side.
