Rouge et Noir case of Six (£5.49 each)
Rich, ripe, opulent red with aromas of strawberry and raspberry, caramel and vanilla. Mellow raisin and chocolate warm the palate, with toffee, spice and a streak of tarry intensity – a tang of liquorice – surrounding the rich red fruits. This complex, expressive red fills the senses and strengthens the soul!
About this bottle: Patricia Atkinson moved to France in 1990 knowing nothing about winemaking, but her determination to learn and to make wines that are rich in concentration, with clean, clear flavours, has bought her success, much praise from the critics, and a ‘large reputation’. This 75% Merlot combines classic softness with fine, firm Cabernet flavours (Cabernet makes up 25% of the blend): it is aged for 18 months in Burgundian oak.
