What on Earth is a “reduced appearance”. Is this smoke and mirrors? 
At least in cookery, when a sauce is “reduced”, the volume is lowered; it is not “an appearance”, it is a fact - borne out by visual evidence. Are we accepting writing standards that are too low, or is technology lulling us into a false sense of security?
