My son keeps asking me for a skateboard so this might be a great way to start. Thanks for sharing
MISSMESSY just an fyi, depending on his age, this may not be suitable. These are about a foot in length and are fun, but not really for boarding. If he wants a skateboard because he genuinely wants to get in to skateboarding and you don't want him to get laughed off the park, I'd definitely recommend taking him to a skate shop, getting some advice off whomevers selling them and letting him pick his first board. He'll really appreciate it.
I got my first set of skates at 15 and I'm 36 now and I still have them
MISSMESSY no worries. Just be aware, a decent first board will set you back about £100 minimum. Cheaper boards that you can get from sports shops cost about £30, but they don't last very long.
But yeah, a proper skate shop assistant will be able to give you some decent advice
