Quintessential English stay at a coastal boutique hotel with two AA Rosette fine dining - includes breakfast, optional dinner, late check-out and a suite option
Accommodation
Enjoy the best of both worlds with a stay in charming Lymington – a historic Regency town that conveniently lies between the UK's southern coastline and the stunning New Forest National Park. Set along an attractive Georgian high street that leads all the way down the cobbled street to the quay, over the years Stanwell House has seen itself as a private residence, a finishing school, and since 1945, an inviting boutique hotel. Not surprisingly, Stanwell House has been awarded a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.
Guestrooms take shape either in the oldest part of Stanwell House (Georgian rooms) or in a newer part of the building (Garden rooms) where the ground floor rooms offer direct access to the garden and terrace areas. All come complete with plush, modern comforts.
Whilst Georgian rooms offer a more traditional edge to their decor, befitting the history of the building they occupy, Garden rooms are pleasingly contemporary in style, with a homely atmosphere. Opt for a Suite for more space and an extra dose of luxury – some have their own private gardens while others have a roof terrace.

Dining
The newly-refurbished Etain restaurant is a proud holder of two AA Rosettes, offering a menu that showcases the best of the New Forest produce. It serves up British a la carte dishes brimming with vibrant colours, flavour and faultless presentation. Burcher & Co overlooks the hustle and bustle of Lymington high street and offers a menu of fresh, seasonal British Tapas dishes in a more informal and casual setting.
For casual all-day dining and drinks in a unique relaxed setting, head to The Conservatory, which has direct access to beautiful walled gardens. Finish the evening with cocktails from the Drydock bar or cosy up with a glass of wine in front of the log burning fire.
Location
Lymington is a pretty Regency market town set on the River Solent in the New Forest, Hampshire. With a strategic position between Bournemouth and Southampton, Lymington is a well-known sailing resort, and the Old Town Quay is still used as a base for commercial fishing boats.
Around Lymington, you'll find expansive areas of natural beauty, from the wild woodlands of the New Forest, to the Solent and the Isle of Wight. You'll find a peppering of independent boutiques back in the town itself and, on Saturday, the High Street hosts a vibrant market.
