Starting your journey in Dambulla, you’ll kick things off with a bang with a bucket-list visit to Sigiriya. You’ll ascend the impressive UNESCO Sigiriya Rock Fortress with its world-renowned frescoes, before taking an optional thrilling Jeep safari into Minneriya National Park, where you'll have the chance to spot elephants.
It’s on to Kandy next, taking in the Dambulla Cave Temples en-route, before a tour of the renowned sacred Temple of the Tooth – an important shrine for Buddhists, as it houses the tooth relic of Lord Buddha. The next day, you’ll head through Nuwara Eliya to visit a tea factory and tea plantation, before spending the night amongst paddy fields in tea country at a mountain top hotel.
Leave Nuwara Eliya and head to Udawalawe National Park’s Elephant Transit Home, where you’ll get to experience these stunning rescued creatures at feeding time. The next day, you’ll embark on a safari through the Udawalawe National Park to see more elephants in their natural habitat, along with deer, jackals, and incredible natural scenery. Finally, you'll head to Beruwala for a well-earned all-inclusive stay on the serene golden coastline of this captivating country, with the modern comforts of The Palms, Beruwala as your hideaway.
