Park Regis Birmingham, which opened in 2016, is a "super swanky" pad where "Tokyo meets industrialist style", according to the Birmingham Mail.

It's on Broad Street, which is lined with bars, comedy clubs and restaurants. It's also around a 10-minute walk from the city centre's canals, where you'll find a selection of places to eat and drink. The Bullring shopping centre -- which has over 160 stores, including Selfridges -- is around 25 minutes' walk away.

The 1565 Restaurant & Bar has views of the city from the fourth floor. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At breakfast there is a hot and cold buffet, with an egg, pancake and waffle station. There is also an outdoor terrace and a gym, and spa treatments are available at Shakina Urban Spa (pre-booking is essential).
