They do well outside no need for a GH or poly tunnel. They tend to do better in ground as well

Make sure its well pinned down with heavy bricks/ bags of compost otherwise they can and do take off. Also remove covers in Autumn

One of the mini greenhouses such as posted a couple of days ago :-

https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/deals/4-tier-mini-greenhouse--tj-hughes

will be fine to start off your plants at this time of year and give them a head start if you haven't much space in the garden .

As Chris101 says once established strawbs will do fine in the soil , in a growbag or hanging basket etc . Just be sure to put a net over them or the birds will have all your juicy fruits .

Golfforall thank you for your reply, I already have a small one, more wish I had a bigger garden. I do managed to grow quiet alot but it's just feels all so cramped, I do have a bit of vertical growing but would just be nice to be able to grow more 👍

fuzziewuzzles Must admit I enjoy growing things , from seeds or cuttings . I have 4 electric propagators ,the Garland windowsill ones are great https://www.amazon.co.uk/Garland-Super7-Electric-Windowsill-Propagator/dp/B000YA43HC

I have 2 and you can raise 7 lots of different seedlings at the same time in not much space (in fact I may just find the best price and post as a deal .

Love doing it at this time of year as it makes me feel Spring is on the way as the little seedlings pop up out of the compost . To be honest they pop up and then just sit there for a month waiting for the longer days in April till they really start growing but it makes me feel more cheerful anyway .

Once they are big enough I pot them on - I end up with hundreds ! - then give away what I don't use down the pub . Only asking that folks give me their supermarket type plant trays to use next year and so on .

Probably only costs me a tenner in compost and seeds for hundreds of plants , folks get free plants , I get the pleasure of seeing them grow and recycle all those plastic trays that folks normally chuck away .

Golfforall How fantastic!! Will check that out. Thank you.

My Dad's friends used to swap plants, he was always coming back from the pub with different ones but we always had great veggies and flowers. Unfortunately none of my friends seem to understand the benefits of gardening.

And as for seedlings popping up, I've got a tulip in flower already, I was very surprised to say the least, but I'm taking it as a good omen for the growing season ahead 😊
