UV is effective and there are places that use this method to desanitise surfaces, but it may not kill all germs/viruses, particularly the Coronoavirus, as there’s not much research having been done to it. Only UVC has been shown to kill it properly, but it will also kill most things along the way. I would only use this in addition to other cleaning methods
KieAway there are other UV kits you can get in Japan that claim they can sanitise in 30 seconds, but it’s usually for small items that you put into a box - so small things like utensils, which you can’t wash properly if you’re carrying it around. I know UV wands are popular for travellers who just do a once over on places they stay, and I know they're happy with theirs. But again, you can always clean things thoroughly yourself
