This deal could have been simplified with making the VPN step optional. Some of us already have a VPN and those who don't, sometimes a free one does the trick to get this done.

I've always been aware of this trick, but I personally don't use Netflix that much. Not a big fan of streaming content.
Might be a silly question but can you still get uk netflix as the us version doesn’t have everything eg no top gear , no Fawlty towers I noticed when using pure vpn ( wow that was tricky getting it to work on an Amazon fire tv ! )
Yes you can, just switch VPN off, or set country to UK, it's just as if you are travelling around the world, and using your tablet or phone to watch Netflix on foreign networks.
I tried this with another system and it was going ok till Netflix then wanted the final verification with a Turkish Mobile number to confirm I was Turkish. (The Turkish flag appeared before the mobile so I couldn't use my UK Mobile with the +44 code).
Will try this later.

You only need the VPN for signup. Use VPN and set to Turkey, go to Netflix (so Turkish one), signup and set up payment, turn off VPN, go to Netflix on any device and you will have UK Netflix.
Tried this before and couldn't get it to work. Seriously, you should film a YouTube how-to on it... Be good PR for lastest deals too.
But wouldn’t it be cheaper to get a VPN with a free trial? Sign up using that and then cancel it once you’ve got the cheap subs?

There's no need to pay for a vpn, especially monthly. I did this about 2 years ago using a free one that had turkey and I'm still only paying around £4.70pm now

Doesn’t work for me. I haven’t been asked for a Turkish phone number but instead I get ‘There appears to be a problem with the payment method you are trying to use’. I assume you need a Turkish bank/credit card account then.
