Yeah, it's one of the advantages of having an Amazon Prime Account at the moment, you don't have to go into town and queue up outside Wilko (or anywhere else) to get the deal.

Actually I like Wilko but I don't like their £5 home delivery charge nor their £2 click & collect charge. At least they are trying to encourage social distancing. But hey, why go to the high street and take unnecessary risk if you don't need to?

Johnny Same reason you were encouraging people to buy online from businesses the other week brother - so people keep jobs, businesses stay open and Amazon don't become the only retailer left.

In my view it’s actually good to see online shopping increase by 18% in April and almost a third of all shopping being done online, the highest proportion on record. The high street stores (and their retail landlords) have to wise up and catch up online or Amazon will eat their lunch. Online shopping is an unstoppable tide, only accelerated by the current crisis. The high street is going to be looking very different in the next two or three years. Many retailers were very weak before the coronavirus crisis, and won’t survive the next two years if they don’t get their online offering right, those that do will thrive.

Johnny The likes of Wilko cannot compete with schemes like Amazon Prime which is ultimately a marketing tool. They are already offering products at the same price yet how many people are paying that £7.99 a month, not actually saving any money and basically paying for delivery without knowing it? How Amazon have done it, I don't know.
