Firstly, let me tell you I am completely biased. I have an Amazon Prime Subscription, I am more than happy to pay £7.99 a month for it, and I find being able to buy almost anything, anytime, with fast ‘free’ delivery absolutely brilliant, and amazingly convenient.

Even if something costs only £2.99 on Amazon I can usually get it delivered ‘free’.

You get loads more benefits with Amazon Prime – Prime Video, eBooks, Music and more, (see below) but for me the speedy ‘Free Delivery’ is the Amazon Prime perk I use the most. Of course Amazon Prime delivery is not actually free as I’m paying £7.99 a month subscription fee to get the perk. But hey I could spend that on a pizza, and I often get two or three Prime deliveries a week at no extra cost, and I regularly use Amazon Prime to send gifts directly to friends and relatives (again with no delivery costs), and to order stuff my wife needs ('free' delivery again).

I find Amazon Prime especially helpful for buying heavy or bulky things that clutter up my trolley in the supermarket like loo paper and washing powder (who wants to lug that stuff around?!), but also for simple stuff that’s not always easy to find in stock on the high street. What I have found since I started to subscribe to Amazon Prime is that I use it more and more regularly for online shopping - from Tennis Balls to Cycling Gear, from heavy bags of Compost and 8kg tubs of Growmore, to Bread Mix and a Hair Clipper. Being an Amazon Prime Subscriber has certainly helped me dramatically cut the need to go out shopping for almost anything other than food.

When you have Amazon Prime you can order what you like, when you like, at the click of a button without worrying about delivery costs. (No £20 minimum order threshold for me!).

In my case there’s usually someone at home to take delivery, and if not the Amazon driver puts the parcel in my front shed. Easy-peasy. But if you’re not around to take delivery there’s other options available like ‘Amazon Day’ (that allows you to add items throughout the week for delivery on the specific day you choose) and ‘Amazon Pickup Locations’ (Amazon Lockers are self-service kiosks where you can collect your parcels at places like Petrol Stations and Homebase). Well I'm sure by now you get the idea. Amazon Prime saves me hundreds of pounds a year in delivery charges, petrol & parking fees, with loads more money saved from some great Amazon deals. For me anyway subscribing to Amazon Prime is a no brainer. I’m not alone – last year Amazon Prime UK membership was around the 15 million mark. Younger consumers being the biggest fans of Amazon Prime, with 63% of 16-24s and 52% of 25-34s having access to Amazon Prime. With the coronavirus crisis millions more will have discovered the benefits over the last two or three months. Given that Latest Deals is a Deals/ Shopping site, used by people looking to save money, I would guess well over half the users on Latest Deals will have access to Amazon Prime in their household.
