So I THOUGHT I was buying a Google Chromecast (who knew not all Chromecasts are Google?). What I was buying was a gidget to use screen mirroring from smart devices. Unfortunately, the instructions (written in poor English in tiny, tiny writing) are hard to understand, and even though we connect the gizmo according to the instructions, we could not get any of our smartphones or a MacBook to talk to it with any degree of reliability. I returned it for a refund (the system for which is super easy nowadays). In the meantime I went to the Google Store and bought a proper Chromecast direct for £1.00 more, and within 2 minutes of unpacking it had it set up and running perfectly. So in short, don't waste your money on this.
