Bed down in luxury wooden cabins for up to four on a wildlife glamping experience just north of Bristol – includes breakfast, dinner, tours and tickets to Bristol Zoo Gardens
Bristol may not be the first place that springs to mind for a safari experience, but just off the M5 you’ll discover a luxury camp that’s home to giraffes, gelada baboons and European grey wolves. Wild Place Project is open to guests during the day, but as night falls you’ll have the park – and its animals – to yourself. As the sun sets, your tour begins with a twilight visit of exotic and endangered animals, followed by an evening of bush craft with an experienced ranger who’ll teach you to live like Bear Grylls.
Dinner is served bush supper-style, sizzling straight from the barbecue with bowls of fresh salad and profiteroles drenched in thick chocolate sauce. After filling your stomach, it’s time for a spectacular torchlight evening tour, where you'll get to witness the animals as you've never seen them before. Then it's back to camp for marshmallows around the campfire, before bedding down for the night in one of 10 luxurious wooden cabins with en-suite bathrooms and cosy beds. You’ll wake with the animals – the sounds of baboons incongruous to the setting just five minutes from the shops and restaurants of Cribbs Causeway.
Rise early – just like on safari – for a continental breakfast served in the Giraffe House. Tuck into flaky pastries and orange juice as you take in the views of the park's tallest residents. You’ll then take a tour before the gates open to the public, when you’ll have the chance to feed the animals their breakfast. Complimentary entry to Bristol Zoo Gardens completes this truly wild adventure.
