unless your leg or arms hanging off people are very quick to judge. mental illness can be very hard to carry around.
Totally agree Melanie if people can't see* anything wrong then in their eyes everything is ok. You never know the torment that can be going on inside plenty of people and is very misunderstood
Exactly or unless your in a wheelchair or use a walking stick they donβt realise, they donβt understand what itβs like to have a hidden disability, and if your young they give a right look as if to say your not disabled
I have Ms and due to hypersensitivity on my face I was unable to wear a mask or visor and the looks I used to get because I'm 39 and not wearing a mask.
People in general do judge and it's unfounded sometimes. I can empathise with you and your situation be sure to carry your exemption land yard as proof to make sure
Tbh when my face isn't bad I do wear my mask. I don't like the looks or people saying see she has a lanyard but nothing wrong with her @nicenurse21
TinaBea you know the truth. Never feel you should justify who or what you are, do stay safe to the best of your ability. If it makes it easier have the land yard in your pocket to show if need be if you don't want to wear it. Hold your head high
Great idea, be very useful for my daughter who has MS but is very private, people are very judgmental when her balance is bad and assume sheβs been drinking, hopefully she will wear this
Got this and a radar key .for Β£ 4:99 like a lot of people now I have multiple disabilities
Not only mental illnesses, but things like being deaf can be a hidden disability. Thank you for sharing.
This will be brilliant for my son who has Touretteβs and ppl donβt understand thank u for sharing
I will getting this. I have physical and mental health disability's and I can not wear a mask. Some of the comments and looks I have got have not been nice at all, Not good when you get scared of people looking at you to begin with. Many thanks for sharing this and I hope people will stop being judgmental to us all
Thank you, I have spinal problems, arthritis and fibromyalgia and really bad depression, all of which are hidden. Unfortunately people don't understand that just because you can't see it, you aren't really I'll,you are just trying to get sympathy
Fibro is bad on its own let alone arthritis and spinal problems, am the same except the spinal problems itβs not a great life trying to exist in this world then to get looks and people questioning your disability
PaulaG this is very good because not all disabilities are visible. I have a very good friend who has hidden disabilities so I will be mentioning this to my very good friend as it will be very useful to my very good friend who will be very grateful to me. I am very grateful to you PaulaG for finding this as it's very useful. Keep safe and sound everyone. Keep safe and sound PaulaG
I have something similar from a train company. (it was also posted on latestdeals.co.uk more recently, but I can't find the link yet)
The one from the train company is just a badge however and so I managed to lose one. The lapel type should be more durable and able to fit through coats.
I'm 39 and I have a few invisible health and mental health problems, I also have mobility problems because of my illnesses so I have to use either a walking stick or a mobility scooter. The looks of judgement i get often leave me paranoid and not wanting to go out and believe it or not most of the judgement comes from pensioners.
Thanks for sharing this.
Both my daughter and I have chrons and it can become embarrassing on many occasions.
Thanks for sharing, I ordered this before and came very quickly. Good quality product, very useful for hidden disabilities
People judge all the time, maybe if they spent more time to listening to our diabilities than sticking their nose up, it would be a better world!
My new born at 28weeks. Spent 3 month in 5 different intensive care hospitals. He now has chronic lung disease, hole in the heart and my list can go on. He has just turned one year old and because he has oxygen tank on the pram. people give us the dirtiest looks or go as far as to cross the road!! It really upsets us, just ask what's the matter with my son!! Dont stare or avoid us!!!
Thanks very much for sharing , I've just ordered there, some people just don't understand invisible illnesses!! I have physical and mental illness problems and a lot of people just judge you because they refuse to understand what its like to have a hidden disability,.
This is great, my friend and I both suffer with 'invisible' disabilities, and are still fairly young. I've ordered them for us both and a radar key for her as she suffers with malabsorption syndrome as well, and can't always get to a loo in time, hopefully the key will make it easier for her.
Tried to register for this but kept saying my email was incorrect ! Gave up after awhile before my phone died
