Sign up to our register and you could be a lifesaving match for someone with blood cancer
What does joining the register involve?
If you’re between 16 – 30 and in good health, you can sign up to the Anthony Nolan register (you’ll stay on it until you turn 60). We’ll send you a swab pack in the post so that you can do a cheeky swab and send it back to us.
If you're over 30, you can find out about the UK's other registries and alternative ways to help here.
Whenever a patient with blood cancer or a blood disorder needs a lifesaving stem cell transplant, we search the register, looking for someone who’s a genetic match for that patient.
If you’re a match, we’ll be in touch, and we’ll ask you to donate if you’re still healthy and happy to do so.
Brilliant post. Really. I joined the register about 5 years ago. Two years ago got a text saying I could be a potential donor, turned out not to be a close enough match but still hopeful I could be useful one day.
Great idea to post this - I've been on the register two years now, also hopeful I'll get that call one day. :-)
Brilliant organisation who helped save my friends life after being diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. I joined the NHS Bone Marrow and Stem Cell register earlier this year and both companies share their registers to find the right match for someone. I urge anyone to join the list.
Thank you for sharing this. Anthony Nolan is a great charity, one that I've also spat in a tube for (Following the #Match4Lara campaign), however, this post is being expired because it is not a freebie. It may be better suited for our Chat section. Hope that makes sense, thanks, Tom.
We send our newsletter once a day with the very best deals, vouchers and freebies shared by our community. Make sure you don't miss all that lovely free stuff!
