Update - There seems to be a mixed response for this, with some members on Facebook having had success getting a free coffee where they didn’t have one before, others whereby existing money-off rewards have been converted into a free coffee reward. As a reward today, check the new 'Rewards' menu icon and lots of people are saying they've been given 1 x free drink now. It worked for me:
On a related note, it seems they have changed their rewards. You no longer collect money, but instead 'beans'. In short, for every 8 coffees you buy you get one free.
If you sign up to the Costa app and use the Latest Deals invite code: J6GW8 you will get an extra 5 FREE BEANS when you scan the app - getting you closer to a free drink!

Yes it seems because they converted the old points into free drinks. I still have the same free drink I had last week, nothing new.
SadiqA it is if they’ve been given a free drink separately, such as the offer they’ve posted. 50p in old credit = 1 bean.

I didn't get a free drink, just converted my old points into 2 beans. On a side note if you use a reusable cup you get double beans so only need to buy 4.
I got a free coffee but I did have 300 points before hand and now they are gone. I have sent a msg to them asking why as it seems unfair as people getting a free one without having and previous points. X

I had a free drink on the old app then when I updated the free drink it was converted to a free drink if I brought a reusable book.
My app updated but I never got the free coffee, another friend got 2 free for some reason!

How do you get a free coffe please? It just takes me to my account, no mention of a free coffee!
I think it's just because they changed the way you earn, so it converted my money into a free drink a while ago
