Discretionary disabled Freedom...
Some boroughs offer discretionary passes to people who do not meet the eligibility criteria
These are great. For some reason being hearing impaired, entitles me to a free pass. Great for getting to/from town.
It’s for those whose principal residence is in London, which is a shame, but it’s a great deal for those who are eligible to apply.
EarlyWorm you can get a disabled pass if you live in England, I think a freedom pass and it being in London you can have more advantanges. I was told you could use your freedom pass on certain trains including underground, which I dont think with a normal disabled pass you cant do.
chelseaturpin oh right, this is interesting! I’ll have to look into it more. My boyfriend and I enjoy going places, but have always discounted public transport, partly for cost reasons and partly for the general awkwardness of travelling in a wheelchair, but this might encourage us to investigate our options further. Thank you.
