People who are not required by law to wear a face covering on public transport can order a free badge to let our staff, British Transport Police and our customers know that they are exempt.
'Face covering exemption' badges can be sent to any address in the Greater London area, and to South East England. You can order one by filling out the form below or calling TfL Customer Services on 0343 222 1234.
Because it's from Transport Of London JoshuaWillow , I expect each City is responsible for their own! Sorry, not my fault! x
It's a very good idea as not all disabilities and health issues are visible. There are people who can't wear face coverings so the badge will be very useful to those who have hidden disability and health issues that prevent them from wearing face coverings. Many thanks JoTarpley for finding and sharing this freebie with everyone.
HelenPacker Well thank you too Helen for explaining why some people can't wear face coverings x
JoTarpley there are people out there who sadly get bullied by others who don't understand why some people have a reason why they are unable to wear face coverings. Someone I know can't wear a face covering and she could really do with one of those badges. I recently enquired in the travel shop at the bus station in West Bromwich Town Centre only to be told that they didn't do the badges anymore and the only way to get one was to go onto the Government Website. I left the travel shop angry and disappointed. There are some people who do not have the Internet and as libraries are still closed their only option is to try and find an Internet cafe. You would think that Bus, Train and Coach Stations would have the badges.
HelenPacker OMG Helen, until you said, I didn't know people couldn't get hold of these badges, I understand what you mean, there's plenty of people in my Village who don't use the Internet and not all elderly people either, I'm not surprised you left that travel shop angry, it's not the response you expect or want is it, but well done you, as always, trying to help!! x
JoTarpley I received one of the badges in the post today which I have given to my Neighbour Michelle as she suffers with copd and a heart condition which prevents her from wearing face coverings.
HelenPacker Did you get it already Helen, wow, that's pretty good isn't it?! That is going to be sooo useful to Michelle, thank you for always thinking of others!! x
I don't wear a mask for multiple health reasons I'm constantly glared at by other shoppers I feel like a criminal people don't understand that some people can't wear them.
jwhitaker537 I understand how you feel. Someone I know also can't wear a face covering as she also feels like she is constantly being judged because she has underlying health issues.
Just learn a random phrase in any eastern european language and repeat it whenever prompted for anything no tickets, face mask, no dogs allowed in the park niema moja problem yes me Im very like good yes happy good yes me like yes good happy you. hahahhaha
To be honest I don't understand why they don't wear a mask/face covering of some sort and if it's for health reasons shouldn't they stay at home instead of risking others moving around and more so also risking themselves.
UK spread of Coronovirus has been higher than some developing counteries, I feel it's taken lightly in the UK. Having family that live in India and South Africa and the measures they took are at a great level than the UK to reduce the spread. I started wearing the mask since Mar and that time people judged me for protecting myself when I was the only one at work wearing it. Just 3 weeks back now everyone at work has to wear it. And I feel the person who has health problems should be given the opportunity to work from home instead putting us at risk.
This is my opinion so I don't need people attacking me for it.
Coronavirus has a mortality rate of 00.7% You have a better chance of dying in a car crash or from suicide. In fact more people have killed themselves during lockdown. Then people who have died from coronavirus. Also those masks dont work LOL.
I received another face coverings exemption badge today. I got the camera as close as possible to take the photo.
Awww Helen, you are so incredibly helpful, I think they broke the mould when they made you, thank you for taking the time to post a pic, it's a really good badge isn't it! x
JoTarpley yes it is definitely a good badge. A lady who I know will be getting the badge from me. The lady is called Pauline. Her and her ex husband Michael recently lost their daughter Sarah who sadly passed away at the age of 60 in her sleep.
HelenPacker I remember you saying about Michael losing his daughter Helen, so how is he and Pauline? x
HelenPacker it's so sad!! We all suffer loses and are heart broken but losing a child must be the absolute worst! x
I received four more of the exception badges today. The people who I will give them to will be very grateful to me for the help I give them.
HelenPacker OMG Helen, Well Done, that's is going to make such a difference to them!! x
