"Get Freebie" button should just take you to a google search to find your nearest fire station.
Depending on where you live in the country, you can request a "Safe and well" home visit by phoning your local fire station on the non emergency number.
We have done this ourselves. They don't just hand you an alarm and leave, they got out the ladders and fitted them! They want to educate people about fire prevention, and they explained to my children the best way to get out safely if we did ever have a fire.
Each area seems to have different rules, and please use a search engine to find your local fire service and if they do it. In some areas you need to be elderly, disabled or similar. Where I live they just seem to want to help anyone who asks, a fireman told me he'd rather fit decent fire alarms than have to rescue hurt people who badly fitted cheapy alarms.
They checked our door locks, asked us about wether we had planned fire escape routes, told us where in our house was safest and most dangerous to head for if trapped. They also discussed that alot of electric fires tend to be at night, and this means that you should know your way out - even in the dark as the lights could fail, and taught my younger son a few things he didn't know.

I had excellent service from Suffolk Fire Service. Lots of good advice in case of a fire and they fitted two alarms, one upstairs and one downstairs, all free. They arrived in their company car( fire engine) in case they were called away!
Our guests were the same, uniformed and in the big car. even if they hadn't fitted the alarms I got taught why my previous alarms were in the wrong place, apparently where I had it would have needed a few more minutes of fire to set them off, which could mean the by the time you hear it would be too late. Good to know!
