Explore our new Street Piano Map to find your nearest piano. Some are on street corners, others inside businesses or shopping centres – but all are available for anyone to play.
We are adding these as we find them. If you know of any we haven’t added (which right now we know is a lot!!), we’d love to hear from you.
In recent years street pianos, which have been rescued from a fate in landfill, are finding homes on city streets across the world.. Bucking the consumerist trend, they are free, collaborative and accessible to all. While more and more people are moving to live in urban environments, these places are not designed for connection or community. Could it be that people are more social than cities allow them to be?
I think this is a great thing. Bringing people together with music. Great way of making people smile and feel uplifted.
Yes what a brilliant idea, I saw one at the train station in Lewisham a couple of years ago, hope it is still there and that people are using it. Music can have can touch people in different ways and is so good for our mental well being.
