Those who had birthdays during lockdown were dealt a pretty harsh hand when it came to what they could do to celebrate.

The bakery chain has announced a new offer whereby those who had a birthday while we were stuck indoors can claim a free sweet treat worth up to £1 now.

There’s no minimum spend, so all you need to do is download the Greggs Rewards app and show the member of staff your code.

Greggs normally offer a birthday treat to their members, but have extended the normally one-month time limit to stretch until the end of 2020 for those whose birthdays fell between 24 March and 3 July.

These lucky individuals may want to wait until 5 November to do so, as they can then claim their ‘dessert’ while the hallowed festive bake is in stores.

Would’ve been good for myself and daughter but due to shielding we had both our birthdays just before and just after the dates stated

That's really nice of Greggs to offer this. Of course, chances are you'd want to buy a coffee there, but hey Starbucks didn't offer a free doughnut, so why bother with their coffee?. Thumbs up!

Well you tell me Mrmac, bit of a shock to see from Monday gatherings reduced to 6 people only. Hopefully if so Greggs will do the same
