Back in April, we committed to removing disposable takeaway coffee cups from all our stores by autumn.
And so we’re proud to say that they are now no longer available in any of our shops.
It’s been worth the effort. Making this change has saved an estimated 52 million takeaway cups a year going to landfill.
Rest assured, we are still delighted to offer you a free hot drink whenever you shop with us. All we ask is that you bring in your own reusable cup and swipe your myWaitrose card at the checkout, each time you visit.
Is this the cheapest price? Find out with our free supermarket price comparison app. Compare Waitrose with Sainsbury's, ASDA, Tesco, Iceland, Ocado and Morrisons.

not really a freebie is it? when the product or products being purchased are way more expensive than rivals, all for lets say 5p worth of coffee and milk.
Fair enough, but worth checking as they do have the odd good offer. The free drink is very handy
That’s true, I don’t do my weekly shopping in Waitrose too but if I am near by it’s worth getting milk or bananas or something small just to get the free coffee
Thanks, Im already a member but dont tend to make use of this. I'd love for them to introduce hot chocolate, I should mention it next time Im in one
I once saw an article that said the cheapest purchase in Waitrose to get the free drink was to buy a single loose mushroom. Not sure I’d have the cheek though!
never thought about that! I probably wouldn’t do that neither but I would get a couple of bananas without a hesitation
I like Waitrose and its products and also it is really good to have free coffee while shopping or after shopping.
