If you local water company does not offer one of these devices, it is possible to put a brick or large pebble in your cistern to achieve the same effect.

Oh boy, don’t I just need this with two teenage kids in the house! It’s a more socially acceptable way of reducing costs than having them adopted

I'm always saving water I don't flush the chain on the toilet too often then the wife shouts at me for not flushing the chain so I shout back I'm saving water.
