Tesco is giving away free surplus food via the food-sharing app, Olio! This is particularly helpful for anyone struggling financially. To get started, just download their app to your device. Then sign up for an account and browse goodies that are being given away near you!
You can also claim surplus food from shops like Pret, Costa and more!
Tesco are asking people to be volunteers to hand free food out. They are not giving it to that said person
wrong tmccormick !! This app lists many retailers who will give away end of date food. It is one of the most succesful of its kind. Tesco may be looking for volunteers but that is in no way connected with this app. Thanks Jo for sharing. Particularly in these times of food poverty !! Im sure many will find this extremely useful.

I myself am a member of Olio and have been for about 2 months. . I responded to someone that was giving away 2x 2 seater brown leather sofas.. the man dropped them off to me and when they arrived they're like new, I'm absolutely thrilled to bits with them!! I haven't got the money to go and buy furniture like this and they were very much needed.
So Olio are truly a company that really does what it says on the tin!! They help people in need, re-purposing items food and non food (I saw a pair of men's size Caterpillar boots) and no money changes hands. They DO NOT give away on behalf of Tesco in answer to a particular comment guys and I just feel it's unfair to make them out to be the bad guys when they truly are helping people(like me) in need. #Love Olio
