Aldi Plans UK Expansion With 30 New Stores — Is Your Town on the List?

- Supermarket aims for 1,500 UK stores as part of mega expansion
- 10 sites opening this summer, 20 more now in Aldi’s sights
- Budget king crowned UK's cheapest supermarket again
Aldi is sharpening its claws and going on the hunt — for more land. The discount giant, once the underdog, is planning a full-blown invasion with 30 new locations added to its growing empire.
The budget supermarket has already muscled its way into fourth place in the UK grocery charts, behind only Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda. And now it’s aiming even higher, with a total of 1,500 UK stores in its sights.
Shoppers in places like Fulham Broadway, Diss and Brighouse are first in line, as Aldi prepares to open 10 new stores this summer. Another 20 locations are already being scouted based on public demand — Aldi’s literally asking you where it should go next.
It’s easy to see why fans want one closer. Aldi was just crowned the UK’s cheapest supermarket (again) in the latest Which? analysis, and it’s become a go-to for savvy shoppers after affordable food, dupe beauty buys and cheap plants.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk the discount code platform said, “Aldi has cracked the code — low prices, high quality and an expanding footprint. If they’re coming to your town, you’re in for a treat.”

Of course as more money leaves the economy and more imports come in the debts keep piling up and things like the NHS struggle for funding etc and people become poorer and more dependent on buying cheaper. Aldi is my nearest supermarket but I don't use it a lot to be honest and when I do its only really a tenner or less spent. It has a limited range and many supermarkets price match it for popular items. Which don't seem to factor in at all the more limited range and having to spend time and money to go to another supermarket to get the other items you need.
Surely it can't be long now before the UK defaults on its government interest payments sadly. It's funny how Germany protects its own economy and made it difficult for supermarkets like Walmart so they had to leave but in the UK we are so utterly moronic we allow our own economy to be decimated.
