Amazon is one of the most convenient ways to shop these days, especially for those who want quick delivery. However, with the furlough ending and the aftermath of the pandemic still affecting millions across the country, it’s more important than ever to plan and budget for big events such as Christmas.
Deals expert and Co-Founder of money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk Tom Church said:
‘I buy nearly everything from Amazon. And I get almost all of it half-price or more. If you know the tricks, you can save a whopper.
‘There are many tools - including Amazon’s own - to help you uncover bargains. I buy a lot of Christmas presents using them, and save over £300 a year.
‘It’s funny because I have a reputation of being incredibly generous amongst friends and family. But in truth, I spend the same amount as anyone else but get two to three times as much.
Browse The Amazon Gift Finder Tool
‘The simplest tool for people to get started with is Amazon’s own Gift Finder Tool. You can use the price filter to adjust accordingly, depending on how much you want to spend. The lowest option is gifts under £10, and you can even select to filter gifts which are deals, or come with gift wrap! Recently I picked up gaming headphones for only £4.99. Plus, if you want an item with gift options, you can add a totally free gift message or a gift bag or box for a couple of pounds. Saves a lot of stress, especially if you’re looking for quick present ideas in the run-up to Christmas.’
Find Amazon Voucher Codes
‘Not many people know about this page, but it’s a portal to many of the vouchers you can currently claim on Amazon. Browse through the Amazon Vouchers page to find deals which can save you 70% or more on products you’re looking for! Use the filter to sort by discount percentage and find the biggest deal first - for example, I managed to get a whopping 70% off a shoulder heat wrap, paying £7.20 instead of £23.99! When you’ve found a product you like, simply click on Collect Voucher and go to checkout. Your discount will automatically be applied.
Tom buys nearly all his Christmas gifts from Amazon, and uses discount codes, Amazon Warehouse, and Amazon Outlet to save money.
Check Out The Amazon Warehouse
‘An easy way to save money on good-quality products is by browsing the Amazon Warehouse. This section of the site offers products which customers have returned to Amazon because they were unwanted purchases, they changed their mind or similar. Although the product may have been used, and the box could be damaged, it will be in full working order as tests have been carried out by Amazon and all you have to do is benefit from the savings. Members of LatestDeals.co.uk love it, particularly because there are special discount events throughout the year, such as Black Friday, which offer up to 30% off in addition to the reduced warehouse prices. I like to browse this section in January, as this is typically when people will be returning unwanted or duplicated Christmas gifts.’
Browse The Amazon Outlet For Easy Bargains
‘The Amazon Outlet section is another great place for bargain hunters to check out, as Amazon will offer overstocked products at discounted prices. Simply choose the category you’re interested in browsing and benefit from filters such as price, discount percentage and Prime Delivery availability. I recommend checking out the Overstock Deals section as this is where I’ve made some of the biggest savings. For example, this LED video light was 33% off, £70.72 instead of £105.99, saving over £35.’
Explore Amazon Renewed To Save Over £60
‘It can be tricky to keep up to date with the latest technology when you’re on a budget, but Amazon Renewed helps you make some fantastic savings. These products are inspected and tested by professionals so that they both work and look like new. They all come with a 1-year Amazon Renewed Guarantee. Choose from laptops, smartphones, computers, tablets, kitchen appliances and more. Some of the deals are huge.
‘I managed to get this Amazon Echo Show worth £227.99 for £163.99, a massive saving of £64. The box had been opened but everything else was fine. I don’t think it has ever been turned on.’

Use A Discount Finder Tool To Save 80% Or More
‘LatestDeals.co.uk has developed a free Discount Finder Tool to help you discover the biggest discounts on products you’re searching for. Some of the best savings can be 80% off or more. To use the tool, choose the department you’re looking for products in, select the discount you would like to find and choose your preferred item price. Then choose how you want to sort results and click on Search! For example, I recently searched the Health & Beauty section for Christmas presents and found an Olay face cream for £13.97 instead of £30, saving over £16.’
Don’t Have Prime and Under £20 - Use This Trick to Nab Free Delivery
‘If you don’t have Amazon Prime and you don’t spend £20 you have to pay for delivery. However, if you’re just under the £20 mark, use this Free Delivery Tool which finds super cheap items like 99p tweezers. This can tip you over the £20 mark and qualify you for free delivery. As delivery is normally £4.99, that’s a £4 saving.
‘But also remember that you can get free click and collect at 1,000s of Amazon pick-up locations across the country, and there’s a 30-day free trial on Amazon Prime. The best time to start that is on November 20th, so you stretch it over Black Friday and Christmas, when there’s the most deals.’
Get Your Geek On - Price History Graphs
‘If you want to get your deal geek on, use tools such as Keepa and CamelCamelCamel. These show you the history of prices on each product, letting you know if now’s a good time to buy or not. Also compare prices with PriceSpy.co.uk, which has the widest range of retailers, and don’t forget cashback too.’
Did You Know Amazon Will Price Match?
‘They don’t shout about it but at the bottom of every Amazon page is a link that says ‘Do you want to tell us about a lower price?’ If you hit that and share the link of where you’ve seen it for cheaper, usually within a couple of days the Amazon price will drop to match or beat it. It’s a fantastic trick if you have Prime, to then save on the delivery costs the other company would have charged. Heads-up though, Amazon won’t tell you when the price lowers so you have to keep checking and it doesn’t work every time.’
