Most Brits Are Incorrectly Making Summer Cocktail, Aldi Finds

- Majority of Brits not crafting summer drinks correctly
- Only 12% use lemonade as a base, as advised by Aldi’s expert Pritesh Mody
- Cucumber, a cocktail staple, being swapped for unexpected ingredients like bacon
Many Brits are muddling their summer cocktails, according to new findings. A survey of 2,000 adults revealed that 81% are getting their summer punches wrong. Only 12% correctly start with lemonade, a fundamental step according to Pritesh Mody, a cocktail expert associated with Aldi. The traditional cucumber garnish is often skipped, with some opting for unusual additions like bacon. Aldi is reducing cucumber prices to make it easier for customers to enhance their summer beverage creations.
“A fruity summer punch is the ultimate British tipple – light, refreshing and ideal for enjoying alfresco. But getting the order right is essential."
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, shared his thoughts: "It’s fascinating to see how a simple pour order can transform a drink. It seems summer punch is as much about the process as it is about the ingredients."
