White chocolate lovers, brace yourselves. A legendary snack is finally making its way back to UK shelves after more than a decade of silence – and fans are losing their minds.
Maltesers White Chocolate is returning to shops on June 16, with both fun-sized and sharing bags set to appear in supermarkets and independent stores. The honeycomb-centred choc was last seen in 2014 and has since become the stuff of snack-based folklore.
Originally a seasonal special, it proved so popular it went full-time – only to disappear in what many fans have called the greatest sweet injustice of the 2010s.
Laura McGuire reported in The Sun that Mars has confirmed the cult classic will be back for summer 2025, and loyal chocoholics are rejoicing. Some even said they “crave them every week”, while others admitted their “eyes fill with tears” thinking about them.
Clare Moulder, Senior Brand Manager at Maltesers, said: “We’re delighted to bring Maltesers White Chocolate back for the passionate fans who have been anticipating their return for years. Maltesers is all about encouraging people to look on the light side of life and so definitely try them if you’ve not done before.”
Despite a petition back in 2017 to bring them back – which only reached 1,637 of its 2,500 goal – the pressure clearly paid off. And while we’ve had festive reindeer and bunnies in white chocolate, this is the full comeback fans have been dreaming of.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk the discount code platform said, “This is what happens when snack nostalgia meets consumer power. People have been hunting these for years, and now they’re finally back. I’ll be clearing shelf space – and probably my freezer drawer too.”
