Being lavished with free gifts is an enviable part of living the celebrity lifestyle. But you can still earn an impressive collection of freebies minus the fame, with a little insider knowledge.

Kasia Dul, 35, from West Yorkshire, leads the way when it comes to bagging free items. A year spent freebie hunting has earned her an impressive collection of products, including a Pandora charm, Butterfly Twists flip flops, Boots No7, Elizabeth Arden and Dior beauty bundles, an Echo Dot, Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet, Fortnite Nerf gun, and YSL Touche Éclat Illuminating Pens.

“I haven’t counted exactly how many free products I’ve managed to collect over the course of 2020 as there are so many but, at a guess, I'd say that my stash of freebie items and prizes is worth around £1,400,” says Kasia.

“It’s mostly made up of beauty products, which are worth around £1,000,” she continues. “On top of this, I also earned £250 of Amazon vouchers for sharing links for free products. Plus, I won £50 in a live draw competition and £100 of PayPal Credit by taking part in a Facebook draw.”

Getting on a roll with freebie hunting is even helping Kasia to save money.

“I have definitely collected enough free beauty products to save me from buying make-up, fragrances and skincare products for a while,” she says. “I’d usually be spending around £100 a month otherwise.

“Some of the freebies I got were full-sized so they lasted for a long time,” she adds. “I even had enough to share with friends and family as gifts.”

Kasia’s freebie hunting hobby began when she was looking for a way to fill her time while recovering from an illness.

“I started applying for free stuff when I was at home on sick leave at the beginning of the year,” she says. “While I was recovering, I discovered LatestFreeStuff.co.uk. Every day there is something new to apply for. You also receive rewards for being an active member.”

Kasia signed up to the newsletter to get a heads-up on eight new freebies everyday, and also downloaded the app so she could keep up her new hobby while on the move.

“My trick is to switch on the notifications via the app so you get a reminder every time a new free item is added,” she says. “Whenever I hear it ping, and I have some spare time, I immediately apply for it. You have to be fast, as there are lots of members and the samples run out quickly.”

Each application takes Kasia anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes.

“The process is very clear, fast and simple. You usually need to fill out a short form, which I’m happy to do, as I know all the links shared via the Latest Free Stuff group are safe as the team go through and check them all,” she says.

“If there are any extra steps included, such as needing to pay postage and packaging, then it will be clearly stated so you can decide whether you want to go ahead or not. I usually avoid applying for freebies when I need to pay postage unless the postage amount is small or the products are full-sized.”

Connecting with other freebie hunters has helped her to be among the first in line for the best giveaways.

“There’s a Polish language group on Facebook called ‘Zaradni Polacy w UK Grupa’ that’s great for finding freebies and bargains, as well as tips and tricks on how to save money. Plus I’m a big fan of latestdeals.co.uk/freebies," she says. “It's also worth signing up to tester panels, such as Home Tester Club, The Insiders, TryIt Sampling Community, First Beauty, Personal Perks and Vogue Insiders. You can also ask the salespeople at beauty counters at Boots, Debenhams, House of Fraser and The Perfume Shop if they have any free samples they can give away."

The excitement of anticipating the deliveries is what keeps Kasia hooked.

“What I enjoy the most about it are the mornings when I'm making my way to the kitchen to brew my coffee and I see all the packages that have been dropped through the letterbox onto my doormat,” she says. “Some days I get around five or more packages, so it’s like Christmas.

“In 2021, I plan to keep on applying for freebies and competitions in 2021. This year has been difficult for everyone and I wish everyone a happy and healthy New Year with lots of freebie fun and free stuff at the door.”

“Joining a community of like-minded people who scour the internet for the very best freebies will keep you a step ahead of the game.”
