M&S Freezes School Uniform Prices — But There’s More Than Meets The Eye

- Prices locked since 2021 on key uniform staples
- Two-pack polo shirts still just £4.50
- Parents praise “hand-me-down quality” and 100-day returns
Marks & Sparks has dropped a quiet bombshell ahead of the back-to-school scramble — freezing school uniform prices for a jaw-dropping fifth year running.
While most shops are bumping up costs faster than you can say “tuck shop inflation,” M&S has stayed firm: a two-pack of cotton polo shirts is still just £4.50 — same as it was in 2021. The retailer is refusing to budge on prices, even as families face the cost-of-living crunch.
But it’s not just about keeping things cheap. These aren’t your average scratchy school shirts. With adjustable waistbands, anti-stain tech, permanent pleats and “easy to iron” wizardry, the uniforms are built to survive playground chaos — and look smart doing it.
M&S even throws in a 100-day return window, giving parents time to trial-and-error sizes without the hassle.
And it’s not just school gear. This summer, M&S has slashed prices by up to 20% across selected kids’ daywear — perfect for after-school mayhem or weekend mischief.
“As the UK market leaders during the Back-to-School season, we’re maintaining the magic of M&S,” said kidswear director Alexandra Dimitriu.
Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk the discount code platform said, “Freezing prices in today’s market is no small feat. Families are feeling the squeeze, and it’s brilliant to see M&S commit to real value — not just in price, but in quality too.”
