If you’re constantly shaking your head at the sky-high price of food shopping, take a leaf out of this savvy mum’s book and save yourself hundreds on your food shop.

Julia Young, 33, a stay-at-home mum of four from Maidenhead, was fed up with astronomical food bills, so after doing a quick Google, she came across Best Before It’s Gone, a website that sells products which are nearing or past their best before dates at rock bottom prices. The brand says it saves its customers money by selling most of its products at 50% off the original RRP.

Julia bought everything from snack bars and crisps to toothpaste and hair care products from the website. She spent £22.50 and saved herself £100.

Julia told money-saving community LatestDeals.co.uk: "I just typed cheap food into Google and Best Before It’s Gone popped up luckily.

"I had never heard of it until I typed that in but have since told my friends about it, and shared it on the Latest Deals Facebook group.

"I wanted to order from them because they had cheap delivery and a wide range of products that suited all of my busy household.

"My first order took a while to come but bearing in mind I ordered around the Christmas period that was to be expected!

“Since that first order they have been prompt and efficient, and keep you updated with picking, packing and shipping brilliantly.

"Updates on shipping are important to mothers on the school run as I’m forever missing parcels!”

Julia managed to bag goodies for the whole family and was delighted at the low prices. She also says that buying from this website is a great way to reduce food waste.

"I ordered Oat So Simple porridge bars for my seven-year-old, toothpaste for the whole family, and biscuits and snacks for the children’s school lunches,” she adds.

“I also bought cases of organic sweetcorn rings and veggie puffs which are otherwise too expensive for the baby - 16 packets for 15p.

"I also ordered myself some haircare products for convenience and extreme value for money.

"I’m a vegetarian and vegetable crisps are incredibly expensive so I got an absolute bargain.

“I also got a case of Oreo bars as after school treats.

"I spent £22.50 including delivery, and saved at least £100!

"I was ecstatic when I realised how much food I got for my money - three huge boxes full of all the extras for my children and the household goods.

“You can’t really appreciate what you've ordered until you unpack it.

“When my children got home from their respective school activities, they also could not believe what I had managed to afford for them as everything is on a budget!

"I will definitely be continuing to order once a month as the savings are mind blowing.

"They teach at my children’s school to be environmentally friendly and reduce waste so what a perfect lesson to show and teach them to lead by example.”

Tom Church, co-founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, says: “Food going to landfill is a huge environmental problem and websites like Best Before It’s Gone not only help tackle this issue, but also allow savvy shoppers like Julia to bag their shopping at 50% or more off!

“If you’re looking to buy snacks, tinned food, drinks, cleaning products and even stationery and beauty items at seriously reduced prices, I highly recommend checking it out."

Ive used them a couple of times. The CEO is really nice. I had an issue with some coffee pods getting squashed in transit and he personally went and picked some more, inspected then and sent them to me. Couldn’t have asked for more.
