Nestlé Axes Rare KitKat Variety Leaving Shoppers ‘Gutted’

  • Nestlé confirms Vegan KitKat is being discontinued due to low demand
  • The bar will remain on sale in the UK and Ireland until summer
  • Fans express frustration, calling the move "ridiculous"

Nestlé has announced that it is discontinuing its Vegan KitKat bar, leaving plant-based chocolate lovers disappointed. The company cited declining global demand and manufacturing challenges as the reason for pulling the product from shelves.

The dairy-free 41.5g four-finger bar, which first launched in 2021, will remain available in the UK and Ireland until summer. Currently, it can still be found in major supermarkets like Morrisons, Asda, and Tesco for around £1.

Fans took to social media to share their frustration. One shopper wrote: “No it can’t be true! Why is it getting harder to be vegan instead of easier?” Another added: “Ridiculous, they are awesome and better for the planet!”

Tom Church, Co-Founder of LatestDeals.co.uk, commented: “The Vegan KitKat had a strong following, so it’s disappointing for fans. With the rise of plant-based eating, it’s surprising to see a product like this being phased out.”
