Royal Mail has issued an urgent alert regarding significant delays affecting 30 postcodes across the UK. Disruptions at mail centres in Gatwick, London Central, Manchester, Preston, and the South Midlands have caused a backlog, impacting delivery schedules for first-class and second-class mail.

My local post office now accepts Evri packages and prints the label. I sent 3 packages about 10 days before Christmas . The Evri one was slightly cheaper than the Royal Mail price and arrived within 2 working days whilst the two I sent via Royal Mail took 3 and 7 days
Time sensitive deliveries need alternative options.
Radio Times due Tues delivered Sat this week - not critical but we manage via Royal Mail for a reason. RT need to review how they offer their service. There are other options.
Hospital letters - why rely on the post as the only option? How about (in addition to the post), emails or texts to a personal account (to avoid scammers) to confirm / download info and speed up info to patients? Not for everyone but may help many.
This is a service that has been neglected by successive governments. Unfortunately, like our once Beautiful country has gone to the dogs. Most of the the politicians have allowed this to happen. Maybe some should be tried for treason? Maybe then, we can expect the service that we dearly deserve.
