Sky Launches New Partnership With Netflix

• Sky has a deal with Netflix so you can get all your shows in one place
• Combining Sky and Netflix content in one package
• Can merge Netflix account with the new package as part of the deal
• Will be for Sky Q customers

Sky and Netflix have joined forces to bring you all of your favourite shows and films together in one place and with one subscription cost.

In a statement, Sky said it is planning on creating a brand new, “attractively prices” entertainment TV package, which will combine shows on Sky Q with ones on Netflix for the first time.

Jeremy Darroch, Group Chief Executive of Sky, said, “The exciting new features coming to Sky Q will enable Sky customers to access even more of the best entertainment delivered over the best product platform.

“By placing Sky and Netflix content side-by-side, along with programmes from HBO, Showtime, Fox, and Disney, we are making the entertainment experience even easier and simpler for our customers.

“Our recent announcements mean we will extend our leadership in delivering customers the best viewing and user experience in Europe.”

This will include popular Netflix Originals like Stranger Things, House of Cards, and The Crown.

If you’re currently a Netflix customer, but do not have an account with Sky, you’ll be able to move your account to sync with the new Sky TV bundle, so it’ll be easy to set up your account.

The announcement is well timed from Sky, who last week faced criticism for raising customer’s bills by up to £30 a year.

The service will launch on Sky Q later this year, and you will have to be a Sky Q customer to access it.

Earlier this month, Sky Original customers were given the opportunity to get 80 more channels for free, as part of a plan by Sky to upgrade its packages.

Netflix will also be launched as a standalone app on Now TV’s family of streaming devices, including on the recently launched Now TV Smart Stick.
