Though there are several outstanding differences between Apple's various iPad models, picking which iPad is suitable for your needs can be tricky. Apple's iPad Pro models push the limits, offering both faster chips and high-tech displays; the base-model iPad offers Apple Pencil support and decent speed at a much more affordable price, and the iPad Pro provides one of the best LED Retina screens out there for reading.

This pro-level tablet is available in 10.5 and 12.9-inch sizes. Both models features the following:

  • 2732 x 2p048 pixels, higher in resolution than any of the other iPads
  • A10X processors
  • ProMotion displays
  • Four-speaker audio system
  • 12MP rear-facing cameras with optical image stabilization
  • 802.11ac Wi-Fi
  • LTE connectivity

The company calls the performance of the iPad Pro as desktop. The real value of this tablet is in its lineup of accessories which include the following:

  • Smart keyboard, an iPad cover with QWERTY keys attached to it
  • Apple Pencils, the company’s first attempt at a styles
  • Up to 12 hours of battery life

Ipad Pro UK price comparison

The iPad Pro may be the ultimate iPad to date and can certainly deliver on performance, but it may not be for everyone because of the price. The prices of iPad Pro don't vary much between UK retailers, and Apple itself rarely offers big discounts, but you can still get savings with the iPad UK offers for 3G or 4G models by choosing the right data plan from shops like Three Mobile and O2. Here at Latest Deals you can also get cheap iPad Pro from Currys, Argos, Tesco, Amazon, John Lewis eBay and more. But if you want to save a bit, you may consider buying refurbished or secondhand.

Apple has strict price controls, so the major reputable retailers all generally charge the same amount for their iPads and discounts are rare. One minor option producing dividends is for those who collect Tesco Clubcard reward points.

However, our community of bargain hunters do occasionally see a new discount code, special offer or voucher code that you can get you an Apple iPad Pro UK discount. When that happens, it is normally for a limited time only, but where possible, we always update this section of our page with all the details you need.

Buying Refurbished iPad Pro

Image

Refurbished iPad Pro can save you as much as £80 and tends to have little difference in condition. Also all refurbished Apple products include the same 12 month warranty as the new ones and comes with manuals, new battery, outer shell and outer shell, as well as accessories and new packaging. Their stock regularly changes so make sure to always check back if you’re waiting for a specific refurbished model to become available.

Tesco and Argos also sell refurbished iPads through their eBay outlets, which may be cheaper. However these are refurbished by sellers and may not necessarily meet the same standards as those refurbished by Apple.

Tom’s advice: Some new iPad Pro older versions are cheaper elsewhere compared to refurbished ones by Apple, so you may want to check them out as well.

Apple’s angling for a very particular market with the Pro: Enterprise and corporate users who might otherwise be swayed by a PC equivalent, such as Microsoft’s Surface. That’s not to say its features don’t appeal to the average crowd.

Why should I Buy the iPad Pro 10.5 inch?

The iPad Pro 10.5in is quite popular as it combines a powerful performance and slender portability. It’s slightly bigger than the iPad 9.7 inch but it comes with a much larger screen making it an ideal laptop alternative or secondary screen. It’s also a better value than the bigger iPad Pro. It’s perfect for almost everyone who can afford it.

You can choose from 64GB, 256Gb and 512GB storage and for an added cost you can get a cellular one, which is a good idea if you’re into working remotely, and do not want to tether it to your iPhone.

Apple iPad Pro 10.5-inch and 12.9-inch unboxed and compared in-depth.

Why should I Buy the iPad Pro 12.9inch?

The iPad Pro 12.9in is Apple’s biggest tablet offering the same specs as its smaller sibling but with a bigger screen. That's heaven for people who love to draw and paint with the Apple Pencil, or anyone who needs a lot of screen real estate for editing large photos or video. Anyone who love using multitasking mode might also appreciate this biggest Apple iPad, when you divide its screen in half, each side is about the size of the iPad Mini.

Of course, that extra screen space will require you to pay an added cost. You can also choose from 64GB, 256Gb and 512GB storage and you will also pay extra for the cellular version.

Accessories

  • Apple Pencil

Image

The Apple Pencil, introduced in 2015 alongside the first iPad Pro, is a stylus that offers unparalleled precision and integration with the iPad. It's designed to have a natural feel that mimics the sensation of using a pencil or a pen, and with the updated iPad Pro models, it offers a nearly lag-free writing and drawing experience. Pressure and positioning sensors built into the Apple Pencil allow it to detect a range of forces, enabling pressure-sensitive drawing and writing. A light press results in a lighter line, while a thicker line can be drawn by pressing the Apple Pencil harder against the screen.

Two tilt sensors in the tip of the Apple Pencil are able to determine the orientation and angle of the hand holding it, so it's possible to add shading by tilting the Apple Pencil and using the side of the tip. It's a similar motion to using charcoal or a standard drawing pencil. The Apple Pencil has a 12 hour battery life and charges through a built-in Lightning connector at the bottom of the device, which plugs into the iPad Pro. It is able to charge enough for a half hour of use in just 15 seconds, so it's never non-functional in a pinch.

  • Smart Keyboard

Image

While the iPad Pro has an on-screen keyboard, Apple has also designed a standalone hardware "Smart Keyboard" in sizes that fit both the 12.9 and 10.5-inch iPad Pro models. The Smart Keyboard for the 10.5-inch iPad Pro is larger and more comfortable to use than the previous keyboard designed for the now-discontinued 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

The Smart Keyboard's keys are covered in a woven fabric that's laser ablated to the shape of each key, so they have a soft feel. The fabric on the keys provides the tension, allowing Apple to keep the keyboard thin (4mm) because there's less need for traditional hardware. There are no wires or standard keyboard components inside the Smart Keyboard. Instead, there's a thin sheet of nylon etched with metal inside the two outer layers of the Smart Keyboard, which serves as the base conductive material for a two-way flow of power and data provided by the Apple Smart Connector on the iPad Pro. Since it's powered by the iPad Pro, there is no battery and no need to charge the Smart Keyboard.

When not in use, the Smart Keyboard serves as a Smart Cover for the iPad Pro, so it's always handy and easy to transport. When used as a keyboard, the Smart Keyboard has a portion that folds into a triangle like a traditional Smart Cover for the iPad to rest on. The keyboard can also fold up behind the iPad Pro to let Smart Keyboard serve as a stand for watching videos.
