Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Launched in 2007, this was the time when Nathan Drake, the protagonist, was introduced. He is an explorer who is in search for the lost treasure in El Dorado, South America. That is where he meets Elena Fisher, a journalist who is brave enough to pick up a gun when she cannot find her video camera. In this storyline, the protagonist needs to deal with Eddy Raja and his pirates. There are also mercenaries which are led by Antoq Navarro and Gabriel Roman. Eventually, they’d find out that the secrets are natural, and that El Dorado is cursed.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Debuted in 2009 for PS3, this game was said to be a big step in terms of the graphics, quality and gameplay of the story. It still follows Nathan Drake with his old friends - Elena and Sully. However, a new character in the name of Chloe Frazer came into the scene to compete for the attention of Drake. The game spans on cinematic moments including derailed trains, hanging over, among many others. Eventually, the heroes would look for the lost city of Shambhala through a race.

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. From 2011, this focused on the search of Drake and Sully for a mystical city - Iram of the Pillars. They do this why battling with a shadowy organisation operated by Katherine Marlow, the villain. As they take on the journey, they will be set to the medieval French chateau, a Syrian citadel and Yemen, which is the lost city itself. Watch out for the opening scene! You will also witness Nathan proposing to Elena.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

A Thief’s End is the final Uncharted game to feature protagonist Nathan Drake.
A Thief’s End is the final Uncharted game to feature protagonist Nathan Drake.

From the previous games, Sam, the older brother of Nathan Drake, is discovered. The game will go back to its early years. The characters will be working as treasure hunters. It will also serve as a reunion between the two after 15 years. In this, Nathan and Elena are already married. However, they will lead a boring life. This is when Sam shows up. It is going to trigger him to pull Nathan away so that they can go for a final quest. Sully joins them.

Expect 22 chapters from A Thief’s End. It begins with a speed boat in the midst of a storm. You will be put in a whirlwind as it jumps, moves forward, flashes back, and goes to the present. At one point, you might find it confusing. However, it is going to make sence, most especially when you begin to feel more of the characters in the game.

Now, the thrill in Uncharted is not solely because of shooting nor solving puzzles. It really is a good story to kick off with. Many would like to claim that this game is the best. It is effective in setting up a tension between Nathan, Sam and Elena. These are the most interesting characters found in the game.

The story of Uncharted 4 touches the heart of the choices we make in life - to either go to the safe and boring, or excitement and adventure. While it is true that there is no need for you to locate every treasure on the island, you still do not want to miss all the major schemes and plots waiting for you. They are made of cinematic moments. You will feel as if you are in Indiana Jones movies.

Do not fail to notice the landscapes. They are beautiful as well. As for the facial animations of the characters, together with the motion capture, they are top-notch. Have this kind of experience because it does not happen a lot.

Uncharted 4 Full Game Walkthrough

Uncharted 4 Gameplay

As a third-person shooter, Uncharted is always about exploration. Be ready to be overwhelmed though because the maps are quite large. Now, the catch is, you do not have to follow the linear path all the time. Most of them would only take you to your enemies. It has been tested that when you go off the trail, you may loot treasures. Do not worry because there is typically a hint for you to know where you can head next.

There are climbable surfaces whenever you doubt what you do. Most of these ledges can be used for Nathan to jump. He also has a rope that may be hooked to places so that Nathan can just swing from one to the other. To do this, just hit the L1 button.

When you are driving through muds and river beds, always remember that the trick is to take it easy. As you do, you will learn that it is actually not that difficult to maneuver, even if there are chance scenes.

  • Puzzles. Be careful when you solve puzzles with Uncharted 4 because the wrong move may lead you to a death trap, which we are trying to avoid. The trick is to prepare a pencil so that you can just write down the pattern you see on a paper. Look at the images too. They may offer big clues in recognising a pattern and then solving the puzzle. Do not worry because the game designers did not really bother to torture players with complex puzzles. You can solve whatever mystery there is by just merely looking at the scenery. That should work too.
  • Stealth. With the previous installments, there are no stealth used. In the contrary though, with PlayStation 4, this becomes possible. The presence of cool effects including giant vegetation and tall weeds would make your game even more thrilling. You can try sneaking up the bad guys and beat them one at a time. Remember that in this game, there are well-armed enemies. So go behind the goons.
  • Combat. You may opt to push “auto-aim” if you think that it is necessary. Set your expectations straight here. The games does not have that much combat as compared to the previous games. You may also have limited access for weapons here. With the entire play, you may only have to make use of a pistol or a rifle. Pick up and use grenades too. Together with shotguns, rocket-propelled grenades and sniper rifles. Avoid sticking your head out or else you will get shot by the enemies. They can be unforgiving at one point. Maybe you can use the Circle button so that you can go to a cover. Combine climbing, jumping, grappling, driving, fighting and stealth. These are the variations you might need in the entire gameplay.
  • Multiplayer. As for multiplayers, there is a need to step up most especially in the skill level. Understand that real players are never dumb. Since this is the case, you have to upgrade your tactics. Use larger maps to your advantage. Flank your enemies and taken them out from the sides. If you want to have a better view, go high from the ground. Afterward, drop on enemies down below. Maybe you want to execute flying jumps so that you can kill enemies from one stroke to the other. You may also have grappling hook so that you can swing around and drop the enemy down. This should work as well for you.
