Uno is a family-favourite card game that will only take you minutes to learn but provides hours of exciting gameplay. However, this is not your typical card game like Rummy or Bridge, from its deck down to the nature of the cards. And due to its playing nature, Uno is considered as one of the crazy eight families of card games. Furthermore, it is similar to the European card game Mau-Mau.

But one thing is for sure, Uno is a very exciting game unlike any other. This is the reason why people across the globe fell in love with it. Moreover, any version of Uno is much easier to play in comparison to most traditional card games.

To date, Uno is available in more than 250 theme packs with special cards. It's so popular that the theme packs have been created after the themes of popular movies, professional sports teams, fictional characters, and many more. On the other hand, there are around 36 “My first Uno” versions, which is a collection of Uno card games for younger kids.

How To Play Uno Card Game

The latest versions of Uno now come with customisable Wild Cards, adding more excitement to this game of matching colours and numbers. Playing Uno is pretty simple.

The deck comes in 19 cards of colours red, green, blue, and yellow. Likewise, you'll find 8 Draw Two, Reverse and Skip cards in every colour. There are also 4 Wild Cards, 4 Wild Draw Four cards, 1 Wild Swap Hands Card, and 3 Wild Customisable cards.

Players take turns in a race to get rid of their cards by matching the card they're holding with the current card shown on top of the deck either by colour or number.

Your Special Action cards can change the momentum of the game even help you defeat your opponents. Meanwhile, you can use the Swap Hands card to change hands with any of your opponents. If you have one of the 3 customisable Wild Cards, you can use it to write your own rules.

If you can't make a match, you must draw from the central pile. Don't forget to shout "UNO" when you only have one card remaining. The first player to reach 500 points wins.
