What our expert thinks about Cook Food...

Shopping at Cook Food offers a unique blend of convenience and quality for those looking to save time without compromising on the taste and healthiness of their meals. Their approach of providing hand-prepared frozen meals sets them apart in a market flooded with quick meal solutions. It offers a great value for consumers looking for homemade-quality dishes without the hassle of preparation. While their prices might not always be the lowest compared to standard frozen meals, the quality and ethical sourcing justify the cost. One area where savvy shoppers can notably benefit is by keeping an eye out for discount codes, which can make these premium meals a more budget-friendly option. In sum, for those prioritising quality, taste, and ethical standards, Cook Food presents a distinctly appealing choice, albeit with a slight premium. However, exploring discount opportunities can certainly enhance the value proposition for budget-conscious consumers.

We fancied something a little different from the usual takeaway for a meal, so we decided to place an order with cookfood.net to try some of their ready prepared frozen offerings. The Website is well laid out, and easy to navigate depending on what type of food you require, or whether you have any specific dietary requirements. However, one down point seems to be that the website is not updated quickly enough to remove dished that are not available. A case in point - I wanted to try the Lame Tagine, which was in stock. Sadly though, the natural side dish to this spicy treat would be the Couscous, which was out of stock. I then decided on the Venison Casserole - again this was out of stock when added to the basket. Maybe I was just unlucky to have selected two really popular dishes, but I was left searching for something else I really fancied. The food itself was delivered at the stated time, and the heating instructions were clear and straight forward. And the food we did choose was tasty and of a fair portion size. For four people the bill came to just shy of £50, which for a main, sides and desserts is not too bad at all.
