Having not renewed my membership due to time of year and the situation which is now upon us. I will explain why. Firstly, I find that during the winter months there are so many places either shut or so limited, it is not worth going to them. I of course do accept that maintenance has to be carried out but it seems to me that one is paying for a membership which is only really useable for half of the year.
As for the currant situation, well this is beyond anyone's control and one again accepts that you cannot go and visit a house when there is a great risk to your health. This is very unfortunate for the N.T. but when you are having to pay around £100.00 for something and it cannot be used, I m afraid most people will not therefore pay.
I do think that the cost of membership is quite fair when it can be used regularly. But, I do think that the cost of entrance to a non member is very much too expensive. A young couple with, say, two children over the age of 5, have to pay a great deal for entry to a house and grounds. I am sure this must put a lot of couples off. It certainly would me.
