I thought the National Trust Membership would be a good thing for my family as it would motivate us getting out more and seeing places which we do at times but the membership is more value. Although everything that has and is still happening with COVID has not only had a negative effect on National Trust but many other things. However, they chose to go against government advice and close all their parks/open land when the government was saying to keep them open so that people could exercise and obviously it is good for mental health which I think prompted a lot of members requesting for a refund or at least a partial one which I had did. I see absolutely NO BENEFIT in being a member of National Trust and think I had wasted a lot of our family's hard-earned money. You have to now book a time slot to visit most of the National Trust outdoor spaces (which are absolutely HUGE) with the rest of the public??! Most of the time it is fully booked so where is the benefit of being a member then?! Just like the elderly and disabled, members should be given first/prior priority/access. Why is it that they cannot reserve slots for a certain amount of members in case they wanted to book closer to the time or at least have slots available to them when wanting to visit an open estate's land. You show up and get turned away because they're apparently full when they have absolutely massive grounds to park and wonder and more than enough space on some of their estates to keep your distance from others. They make their own decisions in closing their grounds/estates (no even in line with government advice) and then they wonder why they're struggling for funding?? I definitely won't be renewing my membership next year unless they make a big change how do things and actually consider the public, especially their members in how it affects them/us in when they make decisions in terms of staying open and the actual benefit in being a member. You don't even receive the magazine or newsletter hardly anymore to actually know what is going on??? Really bad service. Never again!

Having had 2 memberships consecutively, and only used them 3 times due to covid, a discount or refund should be given. Or at least an extention to the membership. I understand its not the national trusts fault, but something should be done for members. The attractions are fantastic, but as I can't leave my tier, i think members should have the option to freeze memberships so places can be enjoyed when covid calms down.

We've been members for 3 years, we love walks in the country and loomi g at historical sites but when our little one came along it gave us something to do outside that we all enjoyed! Now she is older she can enjoy the scenery and take part in the games and find it tasks they offer on site plus the special events are always excellent and immersive. Great for singles, people who like walks and history and amazing for families with younger and older children alike! Worth the yearly fee and you've made your money back by the time you've visited once or twice. We've had the membership extended without charge due to closures and Covid restrictions but would have paid it anyway to support the sites.

Having not renewed my membership due to time of year and the situation which is now upon us. I will explain why. Firstly, I find that during the winter months there are so many places either shut or so limited, it is not worth going to them. I of course do accept that maintenance has to be carried out but it seems to me that one is paying for a membership which is only really useable for half of the year. As for the currant situation, well this is beyond anyone's control and one again accepts that you cannot go and visit a house when there is a great risk to your health. This is very unfortunate for the N.T. but when you are having to pay around £100.00 for something and it cannot be used, I m afraid most people will not therefore pay. I do think that the cost of membership is quite fair when it can be used regularly. But, I do think that the cost of entrance to a non member is very much too expensive. A young couple with, say, two children over the age of 5, have to pay a great deal for entry to a house and grounds. I am sure this must put a lot of couples off. It certainly would me.

I used mine in cornwall as many car parks were national trust. Saved lots of money. Works out £10.50 per month for family membership. Lots of places to visit even if you are in lockdown. We have had these in our family for last 40yrs, grandparents, parents and now us with our children

I won a years membership to the national trust in a competition and must say at the start I was a little bit sceptical as thought there would be nothing of interest. I was pleasantly surprised if you get the chance buy a membership as it will make you go to places you wouldn't normally go to. There are some lovely offers on line also to get stuff from them.

My husband and I bought a couples membership for Christmas last year and unfortunately we are let down by the unpreventable lockdown with very limited time remaining in 2020 and not all local sites are open yet, we are kind of feel gutted. in a way, I feel that memberships should be extended at least as a compesatiom I have emailed the NT twice with no response.
