Honestly, I am torn with Samsung.
Swapping to a Samsung phone was meant to be easy, from an iPhone. I had borrowed my brothers s9 to try out and there are many features I loved, and still love on my new handset. But the dealings I personally had with Samsung, their customer services team via phone were horrendous.
I spent two hours on chat running through many possible problems it could be. Eventually, it was determined faulty. Should be easy right? it was still in the first 28 days since purchase, return and replace right? No, they couldn't organize and sort a return and replacement, I had to call. Ok not the biggest of deals but annoying for everyone really. I phoned got an American lady who kept speaking sooo fast I couldn't keep up and kept asking her to slow down and repeat, it was evident this frustrated her. After organizing the return she asked if there was anything else she could help with, I replied no but.. and she cut me off, did her obviously had to do stuff to end the call and then hung up. At this point, I had no idea when the collection was really, what I needed to send back, e.g. whole box contents or just the handset. I got an email asking me to rate and that any issues reply. so I did, all that was sorted. Til on the day of collection and I realized i hadn't been emailed an address label. Back onto online chat, quicker than the phone, nope they cant help. I didn't even finish on chat when the collector arrived. luckily didn't need a label, they do that. Tracking details are given and off it went. 7-10 days (not working days, I checked) I'd have the new handset. The two nights before my replacement was due, I still hadn't been advised they had the handset (i had tracked all organized via them so they should have had it and a week later still nothing) so emailed to confirm, no one knew, it was being looked into. next day, 24hrs before my new handset was due, I got an email, yes they have it my replacement will be with me in 7-10 working days. Er wait to hang on. This isn't my fault, the handset was faulty. I could have got a refund and repurchased in this time. £1,000 worth of handset and I've had to chase that it is safe. No ridiculous. Eventually after lots of arguing, but saying I wouldn't get a handset the next day. But they would try to push for it to be sooner than advised, I gave up. No manager was available. So id spent a day on the phone trying to solve this. Went to bed. The next day I wake to emails saying it's been dispatched overnight and arriving that day. YAY! But what a disaster (Customer services 0 stars)
The handset itself honestly I am disappointed with. A key thing I loved on the s9 was the iris scanning, not a feature, a key reason for buying the handset was the better battery life, actually, it's not that much better but the battery is significantly better than my iPhones. The camera is better, I certainly feel more ugly in photos now (Ha) but aspects I love like being able to open messages over youtube, whats apps, etc over games! Game changer. But pretty sure these features are androids, not Samsungs.
Big bonuses include the memory and being able to add more to it!
I don't think I would get another handset from them though. Being new to Samsung and the treatment I received has honestly put me right off. I would consider android though. So luckily they haven't put me off everything... there's still time I guess.
