I used Virgin Atlantic last year when taking a week long holiday to New York. Check In was self service, I simply scanned my boarding pass and a luggage label was printed, The Virgin waiting area had piles of Newspapers and Magazines for you to select and take on board, so that boredom would not be an issue.
The Plane itself was clean and modern; with a blanket, eye mask and headphones on every seat. Leg room was ample, which considering I am over six foot, is not always the case.
In flight entertainment was very good, with a wide variety of up to date films, TV shows or music albums to watch or listen to. The food was also very enjoyable, and it felt like no sooner had we eaten and cleared away one meal then another one was on its way.
Stewardesses were always attentive, but without being invasive. Our trip home was over night, so they cabin lights were dimmed and all passenger announcements muted.
Everything about flying with Virgin Atlantic felt special, and I fear going back to using budget airlines is going to be something of a shock!
