What people think of Virgin Media

Not sure what's happening at VM but the customer service is absolutely terrible and not close to what it once was. When my contract ended they told me I still have to give 30 days notice to leave or incur charges. When I asked for my contract to be terminated the call dropped. Got through again and told the same load of rubbish. The advisor had me on the phone for over an hour, completely reluctant to cancel my contract for me. After I made it absolutely clear that I'd like to leave, he told me that I'll get Sky Sports football in my package. I ended up taking up the contract as he wasn't accepting my cancellation request anyway. Turned out the offer that was too good to be true was exactly that, a lie! Since then I've contacted VM and spoken to two advisors, mentioning what had happened and that I would like to cancel my contract as I was lied to about what will be included in my new package. Both advisors told me I will now have to pay an early disconnection fee and showed little to no empathy, apart from saying sorry you feel you were lied to. I asked them I to listen to the call so they can hear that it's not just a feeling that I was lied to but a fact. I'm still waiting for the complaints team to get back to me.

I can honestly say that after being with Virgin Media for many years now, even in the early days of inception, the company has gone downhill. The customer service is not good these days and it’s often difficult to get through to them. The quality of their signal, both on broadband and on mobile phone is also very bad and not available in all areas of Kent. I would not recommend them these days as I think technology has surpassed them by other companies.

Used then for a good few years and i had a good experience. Thier Internet is quite fast and reliable and customer service is also very helpful. However when waiting for call to be answered it can be sometimes as long as 1 hour which is a little frustrating at times. However in terms of thier TV packages, mobile network and Internet, they are great and I have never had issues. Thier prices are reasonable also so I would certianly recommend!

I am not happy with broadband 100% because I am paying for 200 GB and the most of the times I only have 50 gb or 70 GB
Sometimes I experienced a low broadband and when I call them the problem is the same.
Is the only broadband that I can have the kind of speed but I don't have the speed I pay

I think virgin are a good company to be with they're very easy to manipulate and get what you want from them as well its well worth a few exchanges with them and negotiating with them to make your money work for you. I paid sky 45 a month for land line n broadband. I pay them 42 and I have a brand new phone an unlimited sim card TV package land line and unlimited calls. I blagged them into scrapping the 35 connection fee and said id only join if I paid nothing and 3 months for free till I recovered from financial hardship and they made it happen I'm over the moon with the service and will remain loyal if it continues

By far the worse call service i have ever came across i am sorry I took out my contract with them.
Every time I make a phone call its like I am under water so have to hang up and start again.
I gave it 2 stars purely for their Internet service as it is fast and coverage is very good.
Customer service dont want to know when you call to report problems only want to try sell you more to get more money out of you.
Price isn't great either my problem was my time the contract ran out I had missed the deals as it was in February.
Delivery of the item came 2 days after the delivery date the blame was put onto the delivery company.

Been with virgin mobile for quite a few years now, never had a problem with them. Upgrade is easy, phones delivered next day. Network always works, never had a day when I couldn't make a call. Their customer service is also excellent I have never considered changing suppliers. All in all an excellent mobile phone company, they have some really good deals.

My current plan expires in November.
I mentioned this deal, which they declined to offer it to me because its only for new customers.
Told them to continue with the disconnection .
Within a couple of hours got a call back from retentions dept. Mentioned this deal again which and the chap refused to offer the same deal instead offered me £19/month with a 18month contract, which I duly accepted.

The best part about this company is the fibre optic broadband which must be one of the best available. They have been sure to increase the speed of this part of their services to stay ahead of the competition.
However, you pay a pretty penny for the product and they still insist on a landline being linked to a stand alone broadband service. If you remove the landline you pay almost 10% more for the privilege.
I do not watch tv so can only comment on the word of friends who have their too package of tv, telephone and broadband. The process is very steep (averaging around £100+ per month) but signs recently show that, in competition with other product providers, the prices have come down somewhat but still leaving them on the high side.
I have been a customer on and off over 20 years and until recently stuck with them due to poor competition in the marketplace. Thankfully this is changing and I can see them losing my business unless they improve their coverage and prices drastically.

So I've been with virgin media for over 4 years now, I've had a lot of issues with my Internet and the customer service, I was told to buy boosters for my Internet even though I was paying mroe than enough and not getting what I was paid for. I called up again and got through to some really helpful staff, they ran tests and found out my router was broken then sent me a new one next day. Brilliant service from Them and they were extremely helpful.

Been with these since 1997 when it use to be blueyounder and telewest then virgin media i have the top speed internet connection have never had any issue whst so ever with them but then again my area was the first in yorkshire to get fiber optic cable so think were one of the main hubs for fiber optic people knock virgin mecia but my experience is 10/10 100% 5star :-)
