Bruce Lees' Death Might Have Been Caused by Drinking Too Much Water

In the News

We were always led to believe Bruce Lee died from a brain edema possibly caused by a reaction to a prescription painkiller

Now experts are saying it could have been because of drinking too much water

The condition is known as hyponatraemia which is the kidney's inability to excrete excess water

He apparently was on a fluid-based diet which included drinking lots of water and carrot and apple juice

Another surprising fact was he smoked cannabis , not something i would have associated with someone being super fit, and this would have made him more thirsty requiring more fluids

I've seen a few videos related to people damaging their health by drinking too much water. It can wash out important minerals for starters. Our thirst is a pretty good indicator if we need water and when we get thirsty we should drink plain water not flavoured drinks but I must admit I'm not keen on the taste of water and don't drink too much plain water. Probably less than a pint a day of plain water. Thinking about today, I've had two soups and about 4 cups of decaff coffee with a little bit of cream. I'm thinking of having a glass of Pepsi Max and I've had about two cups of plain water today so far.

BonzoBanana I tend to drink at least six mugs of white tea without sugar or milk every day , so i think i am getting my water intake through doing this, plus i read recently scientists are saying warm drinks are far better for your health than cold

telmel I don't think I've ever had white tea in my life yet you drink it exclusively it sounds like. Is it a nicer taste? You sound even worse than me with regard drinking plain water. I've seen some articles where we should drink a fair amount of plain water everyday and they often state soft drinks are not a substitute for that and that plain water is important as part of our liquid diet.

He used to say "Be water, my friend." so that's why he liked it so much? Hm.

What does it mean for those who don't know?

Be Water, My Friend.

Empty your mind.

Be formless, shapeless, like water.

You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup.

You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle.

You put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot.

Now water can flow or it can crash.

Be water, my friend.

SaveMeSunday Just be careful S, i have heard of a number of cases where people have suffered illness or worse through drinking it in excess , i would just stick to the recommended maximum intake to be on the safe side
