Founded in 1843 in the Royal Burgh of Tain, in the far north of Scotland, Glenmorangie is Scotland's Favourite Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The distillery is famous for its distinctive tall stills - the tallest in Scotland - which play an important role in the development of the complex and fruity house style.

We are also recognised as the pioneer of extra-maturation in the 1980s and for innovative work in the field of cask management since the early 1990s. ON THE EYES: pale lemony gold

ON THE NOSE: scents of citrus and ripening peach are softened by notes of vanilla and crème brûlée

ON THE PALATE: vanilla is detected on the tongue before it ripples along the palate bringing a burst of flowery fruitiness

Silken textures bring forth tastes of creamy vanilla that balance with coconut, almonds and honey, before a gentle, lingering finish

A ten-year-old single malt, Glenmorangie Original is produced by marrying the delicate spirit that emerges from Scotland's tallest stills, with first and second fill American white oak ex bourbon casks.

THE TALLEST STILLS

Our stills are the tallest in Scotland which means that only the very lightest and purest vapors make it to the top, giving a smoother, more elegant whisky. They are at a height of 5.14 meters (almost 17 feet), the same height as a fully grown adult giraffe.

WE ONLY USE OUR CASKS TWICE

At Glenmorangie we select the finest oak casks in which to mature our whisky. We only use each one twice to mature our fine single malt (whilst many others use theirs up to five or six times), ensuring that the maximum amount of flavour is always extracted during maturation, delivering a rounder, smoother taste.

THE TARLOGIE SPRINGS

The Tarlogie Springs, Glenmorangie's own water source and most prized asset, is the product of rain that has been forcing its way through layers of limestone and sandstone for a hundred years. These natural minerals give it its ' water qualities and provide Glenmorangie with a raw ingredient, unique amongst Highland distilleries. Our ancient ancestors drank here, considering the pure, mineral rich waters of the Springs to be sacred. We think they're pretty special too!
