I guess you can say suitable for beginners because of the simple gearing but the limited range of gears will mean much harder getting up hills so a beginner who hasn't developed cycling muscles would struggle. Personally I don't like the bike and feel its poor value at £250. Two warnings are it has low weight limits and the gear hanger is integrated into the frame so if you bend the gear hanger it can't be replaced you will need to replace the whole frame.
