• Frugal Gaming is also a popular site in the UK for finding cheap PS4 deals. Launched in 2008 during the Financial Crisis to help gamers keep 'their hobbies alive during these tough financial times'. You'll regularly find deals up to 50% or 60% off, and many of them are submitted by readers.
• Game Crawler is another price comparison site for PS4 deals. It automatically looks for the cheapest prices and sends you email alerts via its Price Watch feature.

Most popular times to look for PS4 deals

Every year, the number of people looking for PS4 deals spikes in November. This is because of Black Friday and Christmas. The graph above shows you Google search trends which increase by more than 90% during the sales event.

However, there are also two smaller peaks on 25th September and 25th December. The latter is because of Boxing Day sales (which many retailers now start on Christmas day) and former, we think, because there is a half-term sale at Smyths and other stores.

How much can you save buying pre-owned PS4 games?

Many members of our community like to share pre-owned video game deals as well. These are second hand games (sometimes multiple hands) and can be much cheaper.

Amazon and ebay are big marketplaces you can find second hand PS4 games - however you must read the description carefully. Unlike in-store, you're unable to see the quality of the disc and check for scratches. A good seller will have taken a photo for proof and explained if there are any defects. Always look at reviews and if purchasing on ebay use PayPal for extra protection.

There are many stores across the UK and a few online where you can trade-in your old games for cash (or credit for exchange). GameExchange is a popular choice online for PS4 games as the company offers free delivery. In other words, they will give you a postage label to send them your unwanted games which you will receive cash in exchange. Is it worth pre-ordering PS4 games to save money?

You can save money by pre-ordering PS4 games. Many retailers offer a discount or a voucher code for early orders. However, the best way to save money will always be to wait for the price to drop.
