Alternatives to Caffeine

Ask a Question

Just read an article offering alternative suggestions for caffeine such as turmeric, chicory, liquorice, kombucha, chamomile or matcha.

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea (pun intended) but I enjoy the burst of energy a good, strong cup of coffee brings me.

Has anyone truly discovered a good substitute for caffeine? Or should we embrace the joyful state caffeine brings? Personally my alternative to a good coffee is two good coffees! 😍🀣

I think the world would be a duller place without caffeine and coffee.....

HappyTravels Totally agree with you as a caffeine kick gets me moving in the morning. Only have about two coffees a day but throughly enjoy them.

I've got to be in the right state of mind to have a Tassimo Costa cappuccino. I'm normally ok, but sometimes it sends me right off.

Was never caffeine sensitive when I was younger 😐

TheChimp what’s your preferred brew then? Are you more a tea person?

HappyTravels Haven't had a cup of tea since 1988 (true).

I normally just drink spring water (still and sparkling) and if I need a sugar boost, I'll drink some Dalstons or Fentimans pop.

I might have one Tassimo a day, but I'll probably stop soon because the pods aren't very good for the environment ☹️

I'm a tea and a coffee drinker but I make coffee most of the day because I can't be bothered making tea it takes too long. Carte Noire coffee and Pg tips strong and milky. I don't have an alternative for Caffeine sorry

I don't regularly have tea or coffee but I do have some decaf teabags stashed in the cupboard if I feel like having a brew ☺️

Mind you, Caffeine reduces a person's risk of getting Parkinson's disease so a cup of coffee will do you good ❀️

I drink quite a lot of coffee, but I also regularly drink kombucha and matcha. For the last few months I've also been having a daily cup of turmeric tea at home.

I am allergic to caffeine. Sadly!! I've never found a decaffeinated tea that can replace good strong caffeinated tea.

However I do enjoy decaf coffee. So not a complete loss

Personally I have NEVER felt any type of physical boost from my morning coffee. I thoroughly enjoy it though and sometimes have a second mid morning. I then drink water for the rest of the day.

Coffee is well known for being a bladder irritant apart from keeping you awake at night if you drink it in the latter half of the day.
